Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Apnoti is free - how do you pay your bills?

A: To pay the software development, our servers, internet fees, the server administrator/maitenance, administration, support and many other things, we use the Amazon Associates Program. When you add a product to the watch list and buy it later, we get a very small percentage of the total price (and only if you click on the link in our notification mail and buy from there). From this we finance the free service.

Q: How often do you check for price changes?

A: Continuosly. If a price changes you should get the notification within minutes. We will always be up-to-date, even though the number of Apnoti users is constantly growing. What we can promise in any case is that we check at least once per hour the price of every product tracked by our system.

Q: Why can't I track certain products?

A: Amazon has some special cases. For example products which require further specification (like size, color etc.). Also there are products which are not on stock (i.e. not available). As for the merchant offers: We are working on that, you will be able to track them soon.

Q: How exactly works the Amazon 30-day refund guarantee?

A: You have to claim it. And Amazon does not exactly shout from the rooftops that this refund guarantee exists (in fact, you don't find it on any Amazon page). But you can call the Amazon customer service and confirm that it exists.

Now - how does it work? If you can find a product (which you have bought earlier) cheaper on Amazon up to 30 days after your purchase, Amazon will match its new, lowered price by refunding you the difference. But you have to claim that refund, Amazon will not refund you automatically.

More on the refund policy here.

Q: I have got a price alert. When checking the product details page, I see a different (higher) price. How comes?

A: This is a tricky issue. First of all it is possible that the price has gone up again (which happens sometimes at Amazon). Another possible reason would be: If you check the products description, you will most probably find out that the product is not sold by Amazon but by a merchant. At a closer look you will discover that the lower price (from our alert) is somewhere on the page, also most probably with a remark like "Not on stock". In other words: You can order the product for the lower price but you will get it later.
